Instruments
Strategic Test’s products can be categorized by function and by form factor. Each function is described as a specific instrument type, for example: Waveform Digitizers, Arbitrary Waveform Generators, high-speed Digital I/O and Digital Pattern Generators. Each of these instrument types is available in four different form factors PCI Express, PCI-X and PCI, PXI and CompactPCI that we will describe below.

PCI ExpressPCI Express, usually abbreviated as PCI-E or PCIe , is a personal computer expansion card interface format introduced by Intel in 2004. It was designed to replace the general purpose PCI expansion bus, the high end PCI-X bus and the AGP graphics card interface. Unlike the PCI bus, PCIe is structured around full duplex point-to-point serial links called lanes.

PCI -X and PCIThe PCI-X bus was developed jointly by IBM, HP, and Compaq to supersede the PCI bus and submitted for approval in 1998. It was originally designed for servers, as Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel and Ultra3 SCSI cards wereArbitrary Waveform generators too fast for the PCI bus.
